The problem
Most of this event’s attendees pull up the schedule from a phone in a hallway between sessions. A header built for a desktop-first browsing pattern doesn’t hold up there, and this event needed something more specific than “check the schedule” anyway — attendees needed to request a meeting directly from wherever they were on the site, without hunting through a separate menu first.
The approach / solution
- Built a dedicated header/agenda widget for this event, separate in design and behavior from the widget built for the client’s other annual event.
- Delivered its own responsive layouts for mobile and desktop, plus a date-label treatment for browsing between event days.
- Added a “Book a Meeting” modal directly in the header, so a request can be made without leaving the page.
- Matched the header to the event’s own brand as a custom theme, built in the same Twig templates as the widget.
Outcome / result
This header and its booking modal run live on the event’s microsite every year. An attendee can go from checking the schedule to requesting a meeting in one tap, on either a phone or a laptop.
Why it matters for enterprise event-tech
Trade-show attendees aren’t sitting at a desk. A header that carries both brand and function — schedule browsing and a meeting request — across mobile and desktop is still something Swoogo’s stock templates don’t hand you out of the box.
