A Wallet Pass Instead of a Badge Someone Has to Print and Not Lose

Mobile wallet passes tied to a live registration record, built for a conference operator's Swoogo account — no printed badge required.

The problem

A printed badge or a PDF ticket is one more thing an attendee has to remember between the hotel and the conference floor. Thousands of check-ins across a multi-day meeting depend on that single piece of paper actually being in someone’s bag. A mobile wallet pass sidesteps the whole problem by living on the lock screen the attendee is already holding.

The approach / solution

  • Built Apple Wallet pass generation using signed certificates, so passes install the same way an airline boarding pass does.
  • Added Google Wallet support alongside it, covering both major mobile platforms with one build.
  • Tied both wallet types to the attendee’s live registration record in this client’s account, rather than generating a static pass once at signup and never touching it again.

Outcome / result

Wallet passes for this client run in production, used at check-in across the operator’s conferences. It’s one thread of what’s documented internally as the richest single-client integration on this Swoogo platform.

Why it matters for enterprise event-tech

A check-in line moves faster when the ticket is already open on a phone instead of buried three emails deep in an inbox. For an operator running back-to-back annual meetings, that’s fewer bottlenecks at the door and one less printed asset per event to manage.
