The Two Bugs That Only Showed Up Once Registrants Started Clicking Around

A modal that wouldn't render right and a scrollbar that behaved inconsistently — two small fixes delivered together on one client's Swoogo microsite.

The problem

A modal on this client’s event microsite wasn’t rendering correctly on certain interactions — it would open, but not always the way it should have. Separately, the scrollbar was behaving inconsistently across the site. Neither bug showed up in a walkthrough or a demo. Both surfaced once real registrants started using the live microsite.

The approach / solution

  • Diagnosed the modal-rendering issue and fixed it with a custom JavaScript snippet inside Swoogo’s native Twig templating system.
  • Diagnosed the scrollbar inconsistency separately and fixed it the same way, at the same theme layer.
  • Delivered both fixes together as one round of maintenance on the client’s existing Swoogo microsite.

Outcome / result

Both issues are resolved on the live site. Small fixes, but the kind that matter the moment an actual attendee is clicking through registration during a live event, not a staged run-through beforehand.

Why it matters for enterprise event-tech

Every Swoogo account eventually needs this kind of work: something broke under real traffic, and it needs a fast, targeted fix. Having a team already embedded in the account means these get caught and closed out without waiting on a separate support ticket queue.
