The problem
A sessions list. A speaker page. A session-detail view. Sponsor logos with nowhere consistent to sit. Three disconnected pieces, each asking a registrant to lose their place moving between them, and a set of paid sponsor placements with no real visibility inside the content attendees were actually browsing.
The approach / solution
- Built a Sessions Agenda widget carrying full session metadata plus a sponsor-logo custom field, giving sponsors placement directly inside the schedule a registrant browses.
- Built a Speaker Details widget with each speaker’s photo, title, company, bio, and their full session list.
- Built a Session Details widget carrying the complete session write-up and its own custom fields.
- Overrode the modal styling on both the speaker and session-detail views to a plain white background with black text, keeping pop-up content legible against the client’s own theme.
- Built all three inside Swoogo’s own Twig templating system, the same constraint every widget on this platform works within.
Outcome / result
A registrant can move from the sessions list to a speaker’s bio to a session’s full detail without losing their place in the program. Sponsor logos now sit directly inside the schedule.
Why it matters for enterprise event-tech
Financial-services events sell sponsor visibility as part of the package, and that visibility only earns its keep if attendees actually see it inside the content they’re already browsing. Building sponsor placement into the agenda widget itself, alongside a connected speaker-and-session experience, is what turns a schedule into inventory that performs.
