The problem
Committee membership and delegate assignment aren’t exhibitor data, and they aren’t general attendee data either. An association running committees alongside its trade-show program needed those records — who sits on which committee, who’s a delegate for what — mapped and reported on their own terms, tracked separately from the exhibitor-registration workstream running elsewhere on the same platform.
The approach / solution
- Built a dedicated attribute/committee/delegate field-mapping layer for this sub-account, distinct from the exhibitor field mapping built for the client’s main account.
- Connected this workstream to the same NetForum association-management system, so committee and delegate data stays current there too.
- Built a reporting layer specific to this sub-account’s committee and delegate outcomes, separate from the exhibitor-registration reporting built elsewhere for the same client.
Outcome / result
This committee and delegate management workstream runs in production as its own sub-account, with its own field mapping, its own NetForum connection, and its own reporting. Smaller in scope than the client’s main exhibitor-registration account. Built to handle a genuinely different kind of data.
Why it matters for enterprise event-tech
Not every association need fits the standard exhibitor-or-attendee mold. Committee and delegate management is governance data — it needs its own mapping and its own reporting. Building it as its own workstream, instead of forcing it into the exhibitor-registration shape, is what kept both sides of this account accurate.
