When the Payment Gateway Isn't a Choice, It's a Requirement

A regional payment gateway a client's policy required, built directly into their Swoogo registration flow instead of working around it.

The problem

Swoogo doesn’t support PaymentAsia as a gateway on its own. This client’s payment processor wasn’t up for debate — it’s the one their own financial policy required — so the registration flow had to be built around it.

The approach / solution

  • Built the PaymentAsia initialization flow directly inside the client’s Swoogo pages: a form, a loader, and the hand-off logic connecting the two systems.
  • Carried a registrant from the Swoogo registration page into PaymentAsia’s own payment flow, then back again with a paid status attached to their record.

Outcome / result

This flow runs live on the client’s Swoogo account today. A registrant who pays through PaymentAsia completes that payment and returns to a registration marked accordingly, no manual reconciliation needed on the client’s side.

Why it matters for enterprise event-tech

Financial-services clients in particular often have a payment processor set by policy from above, out of their own hands entirely. Building around whatever gateway a client is actually required to use is what keeps Swoogo usable for clients who can’t just switch to whatever the platform ships with by default.
