Desktop app (Windows, macOS, Linux)
A desktop app built with web technology, either new or made from your existing web app.
What you get
What is included.
This is for teams that need software installed on a computer: tools that work with local files, devices or an office network, or a desktop version of a web app that already exists.
We build with web technology, so one codebase can serve more than one system, and we test on the systems you actually use.
- A desktop app for Windows, macOS or Linux built with web technology
- A desktop version of a web app you already have, reusing its code where we can
- Work with local files, printers and other devices where the app needs them
- An installer you can hand to your users
- Automatic updates, if your app needs them
What we did before
No public sample yet.
There is no public desktop sample yet, and we do not want to invent one. We have years of web app work behind this, and we are preparing a small demo app. If you have a desktop project, message us and we will say plainly whether we are a good fit.
How it works
Four steps, in plain terms.
01
You describe the app
What it does, who uses it, which systems it must run on, and whether a web version already exists.
02
We choose the approach
We pick the framework that fits the job and explain why, in plain words.
03
We build and test on each system
We test on the systems you need, not only on one machine.
04
Package and hand over
We build the installer and write down how to build and update the app.
FAQ
Common questions.
Can you turn my web app into a desktop app?
Often, yes. We reuse as much of the web code as makes sense and add what a desktop app needs, like file access and an installer.
Is there a public sample?
Not yet. We are building a small demo app for this page. Until then, we can talk through your case and say honestly whether it is a good fit.
Which systems do you support?
Windows, macOS and Linux. Tell us which ones your users have and we plan around that.
Ready to start?
Write to us first. Tell us what you need and we will say what is realistic.
